He started his career with F.C.Barcelona, and progressing from their youth system he achieved to make his debut with the first team thanks to Van Gaal in a match of Champion league. Although he debuted in the Second Division with the Barcelona B ,playing more than a hundred matches as a main player during 3 years. In the 2001-2002 he joined in the Real Murcia CF, and in this team he was always part of the lineup for every match since his arrival. The following season 2002-2003 he achieved to promote with his team to the First Division, but next year the team relegated to the Second Division again.

After three seasons in Second division, in the 2006-2007 season, the Real Murcia CF managed to come back to the Spanish football best category. This season Iban Cuadrado played 34 matches in the league.

In the 2007/08 season, after the departure of Juanma, he takes on the position of first captain of the team. But the coach Lucas Alcaraz barely counted on him, and only after his dismissal and the arrival at the club of rReal Murcia, Clemente, he starts to appear in the line ups. He plays 10 games in total, dropping again with his team to the Second Division. When the season ends, his signing is fixed for the Malaga CF. In Malaga CF he plays for two seasons, the first one playing 14 games and saving the category of a recently promoted team, but the second year the things wouldn’t turn out on the same way, and he would only play 4 4 games in the first stage of the Spanish First Division 2009/2010. He would leave to Rayo Vallecano in the winter market.

In the 2010/11 season, he is signed by the Ponferradina CF of the Second division, after his short and discreet stay in Rayo Vallecano, who signed him in the winter market of the previous season.
